Piano Lessons

I employ a variety of tools to aid students in learning theory, rhythm, note-reading, expression, and proper technique. I use lesson books from various publishers to teach students how to read music, exercise books to strengthen fingers and work on technique, and supplemental, "fun" material specific to students' interests.

While all students are encouraged to compose their own unique music, for those that show desire, I can broaden learning further by delving into keyboard harmonization and improvisation. Along the same vein, we can include instruction in the number system (think Nashville Number System).

In addition, if students are interested, we can learn basic composition and make printed, professional-looking music scores using Finale.
